My name is Amina Taylor, and I am a multidisciplinary artist from St. Louis, Missouri, USA. My primary medium of choice is watercolor, but I enjoy using other media such as ink, charcoal, and gouache. My practice is rooted in experimentation and self-reflection. Life constantly changes, and in its nature, it is experimental. I enjoy experimenting with new art supplies and techniques while I am painting. When creating each piece, I process emotions and feelings that I experienced in my life. In processing, I often reflect and brainstorm on how I could be better to others, who I should surround myself with, and why I respond to things the way I do. Many of my pieces are self-portraits, which helps me look at myself and communicate these emotions through color profiles, textures, and medium combinations.
